Twitch announces a virtual TwitchCon next week

The pandemic has taken a lot of things out of the world - but it's mostly stolen events. All hanged is a possible death sentence. Thankfully, Twitch is, at least, virtual: today it announced that its flagship conference, TwitchCon, will take place online this year. Oh, and his name isn't TwitchCon. It's now GlitchCon, and it's happening November 14th.

“Important Announcement from Twitch,” the announcement begins, “Several vulnerabilities noted in Twitch.” In this particular universe, these gaps were the result of - yes - a "portal to another dimension".

And it's fun! If GlitchCon is anything like the analog version, it will show the site's artists, modelers, and communities. TwitchCon is the premium event for the streaming platform, and its main function is to bring many disparate broadcast communities and fans together - where online friends become true close friends. Hopefully, the online version can do something similar; Twitch didn't say anything about what we could expect.
